Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

• Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport (Rwanda) or Entebbe International Airport (Uganda), you’ll be greeted by your professional driver-guide and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. If starting from Kigali, the drive to Bwindi takes approximately 4-5 hours, making it ideal for a shorter journey. If starting from Entebbe, the journey is around 8-9 hours by road, though private transfers can make this more comfortable.

• Along the way, enjoy scenic views of rolling hills, rural villages, and the lush landscape as you head into Uganda’s wildlife-rich regions. 

Afternoon: Arrival and Check-In to Luxury Lodge

• Upon reaching the park, you’ll check into your luxury lodge. Depending on availability, your accommodation could be at one of the following top-rated options:

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Luxury Experience

Morning: Early Breakfast and Gorilla Trekking

• After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, you’ll be transferred to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking experience. This is the highlight of your trip. The trek begins with a detailed briefing from the park rangers about safety, trekking etiquette, and what to expect.

• Depending on the group’s fitness levels, the trek could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours. The terrain in Bwindi is rugged, so it’s important to be prepared for a physically demanding, yet deeply rewarding adventure. You’ll have an hour with the gorillas once you find them, allowing you to observe their behavior and capture memorable moments (no flash photography is allowed). The interaction with these magnificent creatures will leave you in awe.

Afternoon: Return to Lodge for Relaxation

• After an unforgettable gorilla trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch. The lodge will provide a buffet lunch or a picnic lunch, depending on your preferences.

Evening: Sundowner and Dinner

  • Alternatively, take a nature walk to explore more of the breathtaking landscape and wildlife surrounding the park, guided by a local expert.

Afternoon: Lunch and Transfer Back to Kigali/Entebbe

• After your cultural experience or nature walk, return to the lodge for a relaxing lunch before you prepare to leave. Enjoy the last moments in the tranquil environment of the lodge, reflecting on your adventure.

• You’ll then be transferred back to either Kigali or Entebbe for your onward journey. If starting from Kigali, you’ll arrive in the city by late afternoon, with time to explore a little or relax before your flight. If departing from Entebbe, you’ll arrive by late evening.
