Detailed Itinerary For 6 Days Gorilla and Culture Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide who will be waiting with a personalized meet-and-greet. After a brief introduction and safari briefing, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Along the short scenic drive, enjoy first impressions of Uganda’s tropical beauty, palm-lined streets, and gentle breeze from Lake Victoria—the largest lake in Africa.

Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax at your lodge, take a leisurely walk along the shores of Lake Victoria, or explore nearby attractions such as the Botanical Gardens or Craft Market where you can enjoy local art and handmade souvenirs.

In the evening, unwind with dinner at your hotel and rest as you prepare for the exciting journey ahead. Your guide will confirm the next day’s schedule, ensuring you are fully ready for your upcoming gorilla trekking and cultural experience.

Day 2:  ENTEBBE – DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

You will enjoy a very early breakfast on this day and start your full day’s drive to the South Western part of Uganda crossing the Equator; the imaginary line that divides the earth into two halves. En-route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home to the great apes the Mountain Gorillas you will have picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Kigezi hills with countless terrace farms. Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 3:  Gorilla Trekking Experience in Uganda

After an early breakfast; you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter go to the start points and enjoy the highlight of the 6 Days Double Gorilla Trek & Batwa Safari. Trekking the Great Apes the Mountain Gorillas is a once in a lifetime and worthwhile experience which takes between 2–6 hours. You will then return to your Lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4:  SECOND GORILLA TREKKING

On this day after breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing once again and thereafter go to the start points. You will get to trek a different Gorilla Habituated group from the one visited the previous day. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 5: BATWA CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

After a relaxed breakfast and lunch at your Lodge, you will proceed for the activity of the day the Batwa cultural experience. The Batwa people are one of the oldest surviving Indigenous tribes in Africa. And are the original dwellers of this ancient jungle and also referred to as the keepers of the forest. This 6 Days Double Gorilla Trek & Batwa Safari includes a music performance, visiting the goddess, hunting demonstration and an opportunity to learn their lifestyle. This cultural experience was developed by the Batwa pygmies to earn a source of income and share their amazing traditions and heritage with the World. Enjoying a nature walk and hike through the forest seeing the endangered forest in the eyes of its original occupants and learn more about the pygmy people, how they lived, hunted traditionally. You will have an opportunity to visit a Batwa homestead, visit the medicine man and learn how they go about their daily activities. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe – Scenic Drive & Departure

After a refreshing breakfast at your lodge, take in your final views of Uganda’s tranquil highlands before checking out and beginning your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. The scenic drive offers sweeping landscapes, rolling tea plantations, vibrant roadside markets, and views of rural life that showcase the authentic heart of the country.

Along the way, you’ll stop at the iconic Equator line, where the northern and southern hemispheres meet. This is the perfect spot for photos, a short demonstration on the Coriolis effect, and souvenir shopping from local craftspeople. Enjoy lunch at a selected restaurant before continuing the final leg of the journey.

Upon arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, your driver will drop you at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport depending on your onward travel arrangements.
