Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe international airport on arrival for your gorilla trekking and chimpanzee safari. Transfer to Kibale Forest heading west past mubende and continue to Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. Proceed to Kibale Forest arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your preferred lodge.
Day 2: Kibale Forest – Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast on an early morning, set out with the driver guide as he will transfer You to the park head offices for briefing. After briefing, at around 8:00am start chimpanzee trekking through this rain-forest as you will be guided by the park rangers. It is always a thrilling and an unforgettable experience meeting chimpanzees face to face and watching them engage in their daily activities like playing, jumping feeding etc. Other animals can be spotted such as the grey cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and also different birds.
Later, go back to the lodge and have lunch and check out as you embark on your 3 hours journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park; home to a diverse wildlife.
Day 3: Game Drive & Launch Cruise
Be early to raise, have a cup of coffee and set out for a game drive where you will see some early risers along the Kasenyi track such as Elephants, antelopes, solitary buffaloes, lions, warthogs, as well as birds. After the drive which takes 2 to 3 hours head to the lodge and have breakfast and lunch after some time go for the launch cruise on Kazinga channel. The boat cruise is one of the amazing activities to enjoy in the park; you will enjoy watching elephants, buffaloes along the banks, crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, birds among others.
Return to the lodge, freshen up, have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer From Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Forest
After breakfast, and begin your journey to Bwindi going through the Ishasha sector with a glance at the climbing lions and many other wildlife species. Along the way you will enjoy nice landscape views. Have lunch on-route; arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and an Overnight.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Bwindi, Afternoon Transfer to Mgahinga
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day.
The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the park headquarter.
This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Later in the afternoon, you will transfer Mgahinga gorilla national Park home of Gorillas and Golden Monkeys.
Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, you will head out for Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park. This activity will last for 3 hours in which you will spot the several monkey species in the area. Later in the afternoon, transfer from Mgahinga gorilla national park to lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lodge, dotted with several islands.
Day 7: Canoeing On Lake Bunyonyi, Departure
Enjoy morning breakfast and then go for a canoeing activity on lake Bunyonyi where you will take photos of this beautiful lake, and interact with the locals. Later you transfer back to Kampala, Lunch on-route. The guide will drop you off at your hotel in Kampala.
Note: if you intend to fly out this very day, you will not do the canoeing activity, you will simply utilize day 4 of the trip to take photos as day 5 will only be for transfer. Also note that you are required to book a late flight since the driving time is over 8 hours.
